Schwartzel – Master in Madrid

Charl Schwartzel produced a bogey free final round of 66 at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid for a 19 under par total of 199 to clinch the Madrid Masters. Starting the day on 14 under the 24-year-old South African made five birdies to finish three shots clear of Ricardo Gonzalez.

Schwartzel managed to get round the final 18 holes by keeping his ball in play and not straying off line which proved just too much for Gonzalez, who played the final nine holes in 27 on Saturday but could not reproduce that form on Sunday.
