Fancy a round of golf but are stuck in town? Well, this new iPhone application could provide the perfect solution.
Developed by 10 and 2 Studios in conjunction with Trilight Studios, GeoPlay Golf uses the iPhone’s GPS to construct a virtual golf course from real-world data. Players can plan out a full virtual golf course around their own neighbourhood, park or commute to school or work.
Players swing their iPhone like they would a normal golf club and then use GPS data to walk to their virtual ball and play the course wherever they are. The game can be played anywhere a GPS signal can be located.
With 15 course locations available to choose from, players can build their own custom course using regular golf course environments, Arctic, Construction areas, Farm, and even the moon. The game’s developers are already working on bringing new upgrades to the game that will allow players to share their virtual golf course with others so anyone can play the same course and beat the best score in their neighbourhood.
More details on the app, which is currently priced at $6.99 can be found on the GeoPlay Golf iTunes page.
