Manchester United team stage their own Ryder Cup match!

The Ryder Cup might only be a couple of days away, but members of the Manchester United squad put on their own mini-Ryder Cup at their training ground.

The Betfair-sponsored challenge saw Team Europe represented by Wes Brown, John O’Shea and Darren Fletcher; while in the absence of United States players, it was left to the team’s Latin American players to fill the gap, and Team Americas was represented by Brazilian trio Anderson, and twins Fabio and Rapahel.

Ryder Cup players banned from using Twitter

Twitter has been banned from both Ryder Cup camps throughout the match week, after both team captains branded the micro-blogging site a potential distraction.

It means the likes of avid Twitter users, Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Stewart Cink and Bubba Watson will all be on Twitter radio silence until the competition ends on Monday. Even US skipper, Corey Pavin – not adverse to some 140 character or less action himself – will be keeping schtum over the next few days.
