Carton House Golf Review

We’ve just returned from our golf break in Ireland and here is what we thought. After much consideration we decided that Carton House was going to be our destination, the prospect of two courses for the trip was the thing that clinched it.

Our Carton House trip was definitely good value for the money. The hotel facilities were excellent and so were the staff. The quality of food was very good. Plenty of bars to chose from for a drink. The only criticism would be the cost of drinks. However, that would be more due to the exchange rates rather that any hike in the prices.

The two golf courses were in very good condition. The general consensus from the group was that the Montgomerie course was right up there in terms of degree of difficulty. We liked that. The O’Meara is a little more forgiving and has some very scenic holes on the back nine. Although both courses were busy during our stay the starters on the courses helped things to flow to an acceptable level.

I would definitely recommend this complex to my friends (especially at this price).
