Major winners take thier place in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen will be one of three current major winners to take their place in the forthcoming Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews next month.

Oosthuizen will be returning to the scene of his first major triumph where he eclipsed the world’s best over the famous St. Andrews Old Course, and will lock horns with US Open winner Graeme McDowell and US PGA Championship victor Martin Kaymer.

Oosthuizen has been a regular competitor in the late-season event on the European Tour and believes those experiences of the Old Course were fundamental in his lifting the Claret Jug back in July, and is looking forward to making a speedy return to the Fife town.

“It will be wonderful to return to St Andrews so soon after The Open,” said the 27-year-old. “It is a very special place and walking up the last hole in July was an unforgettable experience. I have loved playing in the Dunhill over the years and it would be great if I could make it a St Andrews double by winning again in October.”

Only US Masters champion Phil Mickelson will be missing from the line up of 2010 major winners for the Pro-Am event, which will take place over the St. Andrews Old Course as well as Carnoustie and Kingsbarns golf courses.

The event is scheduled for the week following the Ryder Cup match between Europe and the United States at The Celtic Manor Resort, Wales.
