We have recently returned from a golf break in Italy and thought we would leave some feedback. We stayed at the Donnafugata Golf Resort in Sicily and my son and I had a great time and we thank you for all your help. My son is just starting to play golf but showed great promise and broke 100 for the first time as well as grabbing his first birdie! An excellent father/son golf experience all around and one we hope to repeat.
Both golf courses were enjoyable and suitable for players of all abilities, which suited us down to the ground. The links course is more interesting than the Gary Player designed Parkland layout, which can get a little monotonous compared with the links course. Neither course was especially long but we were playing from the yellow tees to ease my son into the game! The courses were in great condition and the greens were superb on the links course, which was not surprising as they just played the Sicilian open there!
The clubhouse was a slight let down as it was not very convivial. This wasn’t a huge issue though as the hotel was an adequate replacement. The staff at the hotel were extremely accommodating and friendly which is always a big plus when on holiday. The food at the hotel was also excellent but was a bit on the pricey side.
The location was great but it was a real struggle finding the resort because of the non existent signposting. Having been to Italy before this didn’t come as much of a surprise!
All in all I would give the resort 7 out of 10. It’s not great if you are a young crowd because it seems to be very much frequented by the aged!
The holiday as a whole was great and the help and service we received from Your Golf Travel was outstanding.
I am thinking of arranging a golf holiday in Zimbabwe and will certainly be asking for your help with that!
