As hopefully all of you know Your Golf Travel are committed to contributing to charities as often as possible and recently we teamed up with Football legend Ian Wright to support the Willow Foundation.

The Willow Foundation aims to provide psychological and emotional support to 16 to 40 year olds suffering from serious illnesses through the provision of special day experiences. Spending time with a young Arsenal fan on his Willow Foundation special day was a humbling experience for Ian who immediately started thinking of ways to help this worthy cause; a charity golf weekend was the perfect answer.

The Ian Wright Golf Classic consisted of teams of four, some including celebrities, competing on the stunning South Course at Quinta do Lago during a weekend in Portugal all in an effort to raise money for the Willow Foundation.

As with many charity golf days there was a gala dinner which was followed by a charity auction geared towards raising even more money for the Willow Foundation. Your Golf Travel were only too happy to help and donated a rather special lot for the auction, a golf break for four to the five-star Monte Da Quinta Club in the impressive Quinta do Lago development in Portugal, the very same resort that hosted this fantastic event.

The Monte Da Quinta Club is set in the midst of the Algarve’s most illustrious private community and offers guests a selection of stunning, private apartments and villas, each of which coming with their own private garden, plunge pool and swimming pool. As well as access to some of the Algarve’s finest golf courses the Monte Da Quinta Clubhouse also offers guests luxurious and exclusive facilities that are simply perfect for time spent away from the golf course on an Algarve golf break.

The event and auction was a great success and we are proud to announce that our contribution went some way to helping raise an impressive total of £2400 on the night.
