MoroccoAs the reach of the low cost European airlines extends further south, places like Morocco become much more viable and economical for travelling golfers. The premier region is Marrakech, which is a fast-moving, vibrant centre, and is also home to some terrific golf. Set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, the area’s landscape is rich and varied, and plays host to some marvellous hotels, resorts and golf courses, making it a great sunshine golf holiday spot.

Samanah 1

The Atlas Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to a number of Moroccan golf courses.

Samanah 2

Samanah 3

Mazagan 3

The course at Mazagan Golf Club was designed by none other than Gary Player.

Mazagan 6

While the majority of Mazagan runs along the beachfront a few holes head inland and through some towering trees which adds some interesting variety to a fantastic course.

Mazagan 4

The year round condition of the Mazagan course is first class and the course can be ebjoyed by a great variety of golfers.

The Mazagan course generally follows the natural lay of the land but, where necessary, Player has added the odd man made feature.

Mazagan 2

The natural undulations gives  the Mazagan course a subtle links accent. This is truly one of the finest courses in North Africa.

Mazagan 5

Perhaps the best time to play Mazagan is in the evening as it comes with added bonus of being able to enjoy a refreshing beer or two while gazing out at some awe inspiring sunsets.

Golf de L'Ocean

Golf de L’Ocean is situated just outside of Agadir; a golf break destination famed for its almost year round sunshine.

Almelkis

Designed by Cabell Robinson, the American with many success stories in southern Europe, Amelkis looks set to be a star of the Moroccan golfing landscape.

The resident golf geek at Your Golf Travel. Have been lucky enough to have travelled far and wide playing golf and if I’m not writing about it at work, you will probably find me hacking it around my local course. Owner of 2 holes in one and some of the most crooked drives you have ever seen!
