Golf, unlike almost any other sport, allows us mere mortals to get inside the ropes and strut our stuff in the very same arenas as our golfing heroes. Championship venues including those on the Open Championship rota welcome us weekend warriors with open arms and any serious golfer who’s worth their salt will strive to tick a few of these legendary courses off their list before the clubs are put away for good.
Turnberry is one of the most sought after of the lot thanks, not only to its remarkable location and world class design and condition, but to its association with some of the most iconic moments in the sports considerable history. From the legendary Duel in the Sun between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus in the 1977 Open to Watson’s near miss at the age of 59 in the 2009 Open, Turnberry, and the Ailsa Course in particular, has become synonymous with golfing excellence and now you have the chance to sample this magnificent course alongside one of the game’s most decorated players, Colin Montgomerie.

The Ailsa Course at Turnberry enjoys a perenial position in the Top 10 Golf Courses in the world and you can play it!
Monty is a European Tour legend, what with a record 8 Order of Merit titles to his name, 7 of which came on the trot, and a Ryder Cup hero having won the famous biennial match as both a player and a captain. He is also a proud Scot and a lover of Turnberry so who better to spend a day at this famous Open Championship venue with than Monty himself? At the Colin Montgomerie Invitational coming up this September, a number of lucky golfers will get to do just that with the big Scot putting on a clinic at the Colin Montgomerie Golf Links Academy before taking to the course with the rest of the field to share insights and his golfing philosophy while lending a few hints, tips and tricks to improve your game.

As the winner of a record 8 European Tour Order of Merit titles, Monty may just have a tip or two that could save you shots on the course.
Following a day of golf with one of Europe’s finest ever players, you will be whisked away back to the Turnberry Resort to enjoy a lavish Prize Giving Dinner and a special Q&A session with Monty and Dougie Donnelly.
