Prince’s is one of three fantastic Open Championship venues on this stunning section of the Kent coastline. Much like Royal St Georges and Royal Cinque Ports, Prince’s is a classic links layout and as such is greatly affected by the weather on the day. Unlike the other two Prince’s boasts quite a modern clubhouse and also a slightly more relaxed atmosphere than that found at the ‘Royal’ clubs. People’s Open Championship Challenge Final

The People’s Open Championship Challenge is the competition of the year for amateur golfers from all over Britain. Based on the format for the Open Championship, the People’s Open Championship Challenge sees ordinary club golfers battle it out in regional qualifying rounds in a bid to secure a spot in the grand final. The 2011 was held at the magnificent Royal St George’s just a few weeks after the Open Championship had packed up and left town meaning places in the final were extremely highly coveted. Read more

So it’s three majors down and one to go in 2011. The Masters got the ball rolling in stunning fashion with birdies and eagles flying in all over the course on a Sunday afternoon the golf world will not forget. The US Open was equally as entertaining as the whole world watched Rory McIlory dismantle the Congressional course and the rest of the field and the Open couldn’t have produced a more popular champion.
