"You've got to be prepared to give up everything to make your passion a commercial success," says Ross Marshall. Back in July 2004 the former City trader and his business partner Andrew Harding did just that when they packed in their jobs and parlayed their shared enthusiasm for sport and travel into golf holiday website yourgolftravel.com, which aims to "put more golfers on fairways". Initial funding came from two 0% £10,000 credit cards ("It was a lot easier to get money then than it is now," says Ross) and this year sales are forecast at between £7m and £8m.
