The Addington Golf Club

The Addington Golf Club

The Addington Golf Club is home to a stunning woodland course that is among the best around central London. The traditional layout has changed little since John Frederick Abercromby formulated it in 1912, though the woodland that sets the stage has no doubt thickened, making the Addington a true tree-lined gem.

    The Addington Golf Club

Amazingly, this delight is within 10 miles of London's bustling heart, and the contrast is striking; lining the fairways are stands of mature pine and birch, not to mention the beautiful banks of purple heather that blossom during the summer months. This lovely landscape is all within sight of the towering beacons of the capital, but they could scarcely feel further off during your round at the Addington.

The challenge and beauty of the Addington are a real pleasure. Golfers of all standards will be tested to the full around Abercromby's gem, particularly on the long par-3 13th hole, which was described by golf writer and former club member as "with the exception of the fifth at Pine Valley, the greatest one shot hole in inland golf".

All these delights await your enjoyment at one of the south east's most charming hidden gems.
