Ernie Els was blessed with a special parcel of Mauritian land on which to build the immaculate Anahita Golf Course, providing visiting players with a unique challenge, and views of the surrounding mountains or the idyllic lagoon.
Built in accordance with USGA construction principles, the Els course is a marvel of modern golf course design, blending seamlessly with the natural terrain. Spectacular rocky outcrops combine with beautiful indigenous trees to create a sublime setting for championship golf, and the Anahita course is a true delight.
From the tournament tees the layout reaches a hefty 7,372 yards, more than a match for low handicappers, but there are five distinct sets of tees which mean that the course is set up to welcome golfers of all standards. The three closing holes, with views over the coastline, are among the most spectacular that can be experienced on any golf holiday course, while Anahita also boasts a 300-metre grass range and a charming Mauritian style clubhouse.

At the heart of the magnificent 213-hectare estate is the Anahita Resort's collection of 70 luxury residences; each one boasts one, two or three bedrooms with their own plunge pool and benefits from sublime views over either the tropical lagoon or the golf course. For larger groups and families the Anahita villas are the perfect option; the three, four and five bedroom units have private swimming pools, well equipped kitchens, plus patios and gardens. The villas, equipped to a standard equal to the residences, are located on the fringes of the golf courses and ensure that added privacy and exclusivity for a relaxing trip to the secluded Anahita Resort.
In the resort Wellness centre guests can enjoy beauty treatments including massages and body scrubs, which can also be enjoyed in the beachside champas, while there is also a gym, swimming pools, tennis courts and a magical beach where many water sports are on offer. Enjoy a boat trip to the gorgeous Ile aux Cerfs or take a glass-bottom boat trip.
The resort has superb dining options, including the elegant Restaurant Origine, a refined a la carte experience, while guests are also welcome to enjoy the ‘dial-a-chef' service in villa/residence; the chef will design a special menu and cook it in your personal kitchen.
