5 Nights, 3 Rounds
Perched high above the Mediterranean coastline near Paphos, Aphrodite Hills Resort is one of those places that makes a golf trip feel properly 'holiday' as well. You get a genuine championship test at PGA National Cyprus, then you're back into 5-star comfort with pools, spa time and dinner options that suit everyone in the group.
It's an easy one for UK travellers too, just 15 minutes from Paphos International Airport, and you've got Cyprus' reliable golf weather on your side for most of the year. Add in the on-site Village Square, the Retreat Spa, tennis and padel, plus the Bonemare beach club (May to October), and it's clear why it's regularly talked about as one of the top golf resorts in Europe.
Golf-wise, this isn't a 'holiday track'. PGA National Cyprus has the look and feel of a tour venue, and it hosted the Cyprus Open and Cyprus Showdown in 2020, both €1m events. If you like your course to ask questions off the tee and around the greens, you'll enjoy it. If the group's mixed-ability, the resort facilities do a lot of heavy lifting off the course too.
The 290-room hotel overlooks Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite's Rock), and it's clear from the moment you arrive that this is a proper 5-star setup. The resort caters to groups and families through its Holiday Residences, self-catering villas with private pools that sit alongside the main hotel, so whether you're after a golf-focused break or a wider resort experience with the family, Aphrodite Hills has the space and facilities to match.
Who is this for?
Golfers seeking a luxury Mediterranean break with a championship course, extensive resort facilities and year-round playability, plus groups and families wanting self-catering villa options alongside hotel accommodation.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who want to test themselves on a tour-standard layout, couples combining golf with spa and beach access, and larger groups or families looking for villa-style stays with private pools and full resort amenities.

Spanning the contours of the landscape's two plateaus, Aphrodite Hills is carved through lakes, carob trees and delightful olive groves, all of which are part of its immediate position among the elite of European golf. With a view towards hosting prestigious international professional tournaments, Aphrodite Hills can be set up to test even the finest players, as evidenced when it hosted the prestigious PGA Europro Tour Championship in 2010. However, it is essentially a resort course, and as such the variety of tees ensures that this 18hole golf course also remains playable for the average visitor.
The course spans the magnificent cliff-tops to the south of Paphos, and affords incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. Robinson has also used this landscape to create a number of awe-inspiring holes; the most notable are the short 7th, at the foot of a gaping ravine, and the nerve-jangling island green at the long closing hole.
The course does justice to both the 5* quality and the natural beauty that are the trademarks of the resort, and should ensure a truly memorable golf holiday at Aphrodite Hills.

Aphrodite Hills boasts a top quality golf academy; sharpen your skills at the double-ended range, the dedicated short game zone, or the three-hole academy course.
Favourite holes (according to designer, Cabell B. Robinson):
❝If you can carry 200 metres with your driver, you should try the back tee on the 3rd. It looks forever over the gorge, but it is only that far to reach safety. It is a thrill of a lifetime shot if you succeed. The 7th deep within the bowels of the canyon is another dramatic shot, while fantastic sea views are to be had at the 8th and 15th. Personally I think reaching for the back pin position on the 12th needs the most courage, while the 16th is my pick for the toughest par 4, and the 18th is a reachable and wonderful par 5.❞

The Aphrodite Hills Hotel overlooks Petra tou Romiou, Aphrodite's Rock, and offers 290 guest rooms and suites across a range of configurations. Every room includes a private balcony or terrace with views over the golf course, gardens, communal pools or the Mediterranean Sea, so you're not staring at a car park after 18 holes.
Standard facilities include a deluxe bathroom with separate walk-in bath and shower, bathrobes, beach towels, minibar, safe deposit box, satellite television and full air-conditioning. The hotel's classical Mediterranean design runs through both the façade and interior, maintaining 5-star quality throughout without feeling stuffy or overly formal.
If you're sharing twin rooms for a golf trip, the standard rooms are a solid base, and you're not trekking miles back from the clubhouse after a round. Travelling with non-golfers? Sea-view terraces and easy access to the spa and pools keep everyone happy between rounds. There's plenty of storage for clubs and kit, and early breakfast is available if you've got a dawn tee time.
Room types range from standard doubles to larger suites, all benefiting from the same core amenities and private outdoor space. For groups or families preferring more independence, the resort's Holiday Residences provide self-catering villas with private pools, full kitchens and multiple bedrooms, ideal for longer stays or those wanting a home-from-home base. The villas sit within the resort grounds, so you still have access to all the hotel facilities, restaurants and the golf course without feeling like you're staying off-site.
If you're organising a society trip or a group with mixed abilities and interests, the villa option works particularly well. You can cook breakfast, have a few beers by your own pool in the evening, and still book into the resort restaurants when you fancy a proper meal out. It's that flexibility that makes Aphrodite Hills work for a wider range of groups than your typical golf hotel.
Dining spans twelve restaurants and bars across the resort, so whether it's a quick bite between 9 and 18 or a proper sit-down dinner after a shower and a snooze, you won't be stuck for choice. El Sabor serves light Mexican-inspired dishes during the day, while the Sunset Bar offers live jazz and cocktails in the evening, which is a nice way to wind down after a round.
The Village Square adds seven more venues, including Pithari Tavern for traditional Greek cuisine, Gate to India for classic Indian dishes, and two pubs, Anoi and The Beer Garden, if you're after a pint and something familiar. The Golf Lounge provides a post-round gathering spot, and the Clubhouse Restaurant delivers a 5-star menu blending regional favourites with international classics. It's the sort of place where you can sit down with the group, go through the round hole by hole, and not feel rushed.
The Retreat Spa sits at the heart of the resort, offering 24 treatment rooms plus garden massage huts, many with sea views. Treatments use the luxury Pevonia product range and include specialised hydrotherapy, body wraps, manicures, pedicures and massages. The centrepiece is the Thermae, a hydrotherapy complex built around a central colonnade in the style of Greco-Roman bathing rituals. If you've just walked 18 holes in the heat, it's a very civilised way to recover.
Beyond the spa, the resort includes a tennis academy with four clay courts and five hard courts, two padel tennis courts, a basketball pitch, soccer school and cycling centre. Hotel guests have access to the Bonemare beach club, a private pebbled beach open May to October, plus multiple swimming pools, sauna and spa pool. It's 15 minutes from Paphos and 55 minutes from Larnaca International Airport.
The Village Square serves as the resort's social hub, with bars, à la carte restaurants, a bank, chapel, pharmacy, supermarket and designer boutiques all within walking distance. It's the sort of setup where you can wander down for a coffee, pick up supplies, book a spa treatment and still be back at your room or villa in ten minutes.

Beautiful location looking across the golf course down to the sea and with the hills as a backdrop. Golf course just over the road and Secret Valley GC around the corner

Out of a promised 10 restaurants only 4 were open with another opening on our last day. Charging was strange with some drinks free outside but charged in the restaurants. Difficult to navigate the site, no physical map and website not intuitive

Hotel was spotless, lovely room overlooking the 9th fairway and sea beyond. Friendly staff although the service at the main bar was slow on occasion.

Located just a short drive from the airport, this is a beautiful hotel with lovely friendly staff. Our room was large with a shaded terrace, large bathroom and plenty of storage, however the seating was not as comfortable as I would have liked. There was a wide range on dining areas with excellent food and drink choices. There were several pools and sunbathing areas with comfortable sun beds available and pleasant staff providing drinks whenever required. There was a golf was fantastic, with great practice and warm-up areas and a challenging, but dramatic, course.

YGT Aphrodite hotel June 12-18 Firstly I’d like to review YGT itself. 2 months before this trip which was fully paid by then. They decided to inform me, (the organiser that booked this trip 18 months in advance), that there is course maintenance on June 2-6 2 weeks before we travelled. I asked them why they never informed me of this annual maintenance and they said they had only just been informed. Well that’s rubbish. I asked the course management when I was there “ we do all our maintenance on the first 2 weeks of June every year” was the answer. YGT it’s your job to know this and inform me when I’m booking so i can adjust the dates. I ask my group to pay a lot of money and I had to deal with it. Also .. Hotel.. I specifically asked YGT to ensure we had 4 TWIN rooms as there are 8 men sharing and it says on the itinerary DOUBLE rooms. YGT assured me that we had twin rooms. No we didn’t. I asked for my room to be changed to a twin then they gave me another Double. It really wasn’t good enough. Take our money and at least be helpful. I emailed you from the resort and I have returned home and I still have not had a reply. Poor CS. HOTEL Food was fantastic. We were all inclusive and definitely had our moneys worth. Every restaurant was top class food was excellent as was the service. Aphrodite Golf Course One of the best courses I have ever played. Super condition (apart from the course maintenance on the greens) staff excellent very helpful watch out for the snakes in the scrubland (vipers) Secret Valley Excellent course with stunning views but poor bunkers, stones with little sand. Good again very nice as well. Elea Nice course bit untidy but a great layout and challenging holes. Overall we had a wonderful time, golf was excellent and full recommend you visit. The lack of transparency from YGT was forgotten once we were on the courses eating in the great restaurants and drinking a lot of beer and cocktails.

We have used this resort many times for our group bookings. It is still very good but has lost an edge over previous visits. I would still recommend this hotel. It's a bit out from Pathos but has a regular bus service.

We arrived and did not have the twin rooms we requested. Two rooms were changed the next day - which was not very convenient. Four of the six on our group contacted a nasty diarrhea and sickness bug. Apparently other people had experienced the same- this unfortunately impacted on our trip. A member of reception said if there was anything he could do to help us to let them know. The next morning we phoned to ask for someone sparkling water to be brought to our room and was told that was room service and we would have to pay for it …. If you would like to contact me to discuss all this please do.
