- 2 rounds at Hill Course or Valley Course
The Valley Course was conceived by Frank Pennink, among the most highly reputed golf architects of his generation, and is characaterised by the abundant water features which make it a striking proposition. Pennink's design is sympathetically entwined with the natural features of the local landscape, and the 6,483 yard stretch, beautiful though it may be, will also test even the best players.
The neighbouring Hill Course was also devised by Pennink, but since its inception has been revised by Donald Steel, whose trademark can be seen stamped on any number of the United Kingdom's best golf courses, and who has been consulted by every course to have held the Open Championship. At 6,495, the Hill will also demand some quality striking, and while it may be more forgiving than the Valley, it is still guarded by Pennink and Steel's treacherous bunkers.
In addition to the splendid golf courses, Barnham Broom is also home to a first class golf school. There are extensive practice facilities, and the scheduled tuition clinics make use of the latest technology, including the GASP video swing analysis system, ideal for both beginners and more established golfers.
If you're struggling with your swing, consult Barnham Broom's resident PGA professional, who manages one of England's most respected golf schools.
The stunning landscape of rural Norfolk is the backdrop for a golf break at Barnham Broom, making it an absolutely beautiful destination. The hotel itself has 46 bedrooms, all of which have been recently refurbished to a stylish contemporary standard. For those staying for a special occasion we have two beautiful suites named The Valley Suite and The Hill Suite, which have views over the two respective courses.
The Edge Health and Fitness Club has extensive facilities including an outstanding swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms. Meanwhile, sporty visitors are sure to enjoy the panoramic views of the golf course from the superbly fitted gym, the aerobics studio, scheduled fitness classes like yoga and pilates, and the tennis and squash courts.
The award-winning Brasserie prides itself on its exquisite cuisine and extensive wine and champagne list.
The six-foot screen in the Sports Bar shows all live Premiership matches, and is the place to relax with a beer and a snack.

Our Barnham Broom golf break was fantastic and all involved had a great time and send their thanks.
The two golf courses were very different from one another and provided two different but enjoyable tests. Our favourite was the Valley Course. The 19th Hole was very welcoming, the facilities were great and the pricing for food and drink was fair. We got dinner and breakfast as part of our golf break package and it was much better than expected. The service was good as well considering how busy the restaurant was.
The Edge Health and Fitness Club and the rest of the hotel’s facilities were great and completed the package. Overall our golf break package was absolutely brilliant value for money; we could not have expected more bang for our buck! Thank you for the excellent service. Your Golf Travel never let me down!
Back safe and sound from Barnham Broom Golf Hotel & Spa!! What a great golf break we had! Let me give you a quick review…………
Both golf courses were very impressive – challenging and fun and both in excellent condition considering the amount of traffic they must endure. There were some very long par 5s as they were championship courses, but us girls stepped up to the mark and our first day winning Am-Am team came in with a respectable 75 points (guess who was in the winning team?!!). Our Pro, Katie, also did well with a scratch score of only 1 over on each day. The Par 3’s on the Valley course were amazing, I’d go back just to play those again, absolutely brilliantly designed, The reaction each time was ‘oh my God, what do we do here!!’ followed by some laughter!
The hotel was very nicely appointed – we had a very warm welcome from all the staff and the drinks and snacks in the Spike Bar were very reasonably priced and quite quickly served, which is essential when you have a big group. The evening bar prices were also quite reasonable, compared to some very pricey rounds at St Pierre last year. The bedrooms were compact but obviously very recently refurbished and had everything you could possibly want and the beds were welcomingly comfortable after a couple of long days and evenings!
We had a private dining room and a team of staff who were fantastic – they were polite, efficient and joined in the spirit of our group! They set up a prize table for us in our room the second night.
The outstanding feature for ALL of us what the quality of the food, quite exceptional and without doubt the best ‘golf resort’ food I’ve ever had, and that includes Stratford, St Pierre and other top destinations. The chef is a Diamond!!
All in all a very good trip, it has been one of our best. I really can’t think of anything we would improve (other than the ladies loo on the course!) so, yes, 10/10 for Barnham Broom. I hope we didn’t make too much noise – 24 ladies can be a bit like an aviary!!!
Well done again, another triumph for Your Golf Travel………………
Looking forward to the next trip already!!!
From the initial enquiry and detailing our requirements, everything went very smoothly during out golf break. We were very pleased with the hotel and accommodation. The rooms were of a very good standard, clean and well appointed. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to provide a discrete and effective service. The restaurant where we ate every day provided good food in sufficient quantity and quality with a good choice for both dinner and breakfast.
The golf was very good. We were favoured with good weather and the 3 courses we played were in good order. Sheringham in particular was a superb course with the added attraction of a steam train every 45 minutes puffing away along the side of the course. The golf was good and suited our level of play. We will definitely return.
On all three days, the courses were expecting us and we had our times booked and kept to. No fuss, just quiet efficiency as we like.
Your Golf Travel served us well. We usually book ourselves but they took all the hassle away and provided a great service. We will use their services again and I thank them from all of us; especially me as the organiser for this year.
We had areally good golf break at Barnham Broom Golf Hotel & Spa. The hotel wassuperb in particular the food was outstanding and the staff were courteous and helpful. The courses as a whole were in good nick but some of the holes within theeighteen, had been hollartined making the putting inconsistent within the roundwhich was a shame. However we appreciate that these maintenance works have tobe done at some time and generally there was not very much grumbling.
We decided upon Barnham Broom Golf Hotel & Spa for our golf break. It has two excellent courses, with the Valley Course being perhaps more interesting/challenging/in better condition than the Hill Course, which is more exposed and can get breezy. Care needed after third hole of Hill Course as fourth tee is a sharp left turn not straight on as it appears (not very well signposted). Unfortunately almost all the greens had just been tined, which made them quite bobbly. But everyone enjoyed the two courses.
It was nice to be able to sit out on the patio at the clubhouse. Prices were reasonable and the service friendly. They helpfully provided a leader board for us, as well as markers for nearest the pin and longest drive. The hotel was quite large, extensive conference facilities, good spa (not that I think anyone had the energy to use it). Package made it good value. Rooms as expected for corporate users – massive bed, massive flat screen TV not much room for anything else. We had a separate room for the dinner, which was good. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. The menu choices were interesting and varied. We were a little surprised that the menu recommended that we order extra dishes of mixed vegetables for an additional charge, as we assumed the package would cover this (in the event, although I ordered some, they either forgot or decided not to put it on my bill).
Also surprised to be told an optional service charge of 10% (of what?) would be added, but they willingly removed this when asked. Wine was a little pricey, and as we were seated at four tables I had to order everything in multiples of four, thus spending more than I had really intended. Staff, particularly at reception, were very friendly. Unfortunately the site was undergoing considerable construction work which restricted parking a bit. However it was easy to find with Sat Nav, perhaps less so without, but there were several signs to the Golf Course on local roads, and everyone got there!
My overall verdict is 8/10 considering the price. And the service of YGT was all very good, courteous and helpful, would definitely recommend them!
