When the opportunity arose for two local businessmen to purchase 160 acres of farmland around Blarney, they decided to transform it into an internationally acclaimed golf resort.
In order to realise their vision, they enlisted one of golf's great characters, the enigmatic John Daly. The course sympathetically takes in the protected natural woodland of the Shournagh Valley, and has been designed in the style of a modern resort course; there is a range of tees to suit golfers of all standards and physiques, not just those who strike the ball like Long John.
Daly's first project in Europe is a credit to him, and is a great addition to Cork's golfing landscape.
John Daly has also designed Wicked Stick in South Carolina, which features the ‘Daly Tees', and challenges you to grip it and rip it.
