The Cambridgeshire Golf Club

The tree-lined fairways make accurate striking imperative, while the beautiful surrounding landscape makes the course one of the most attractive to be found anywhere.

When played from the medal markers, the Cambridge measures 6,575 yards, making it a stern test for highly-skilled players, but there is a good variety of tees to ensure that the course is suitable for all visitors.

Follow in famous footsteps - Watson, Faldo and Ballesteros are among the great names to pound the Cambridge fairways.

Golfer reviews

We had a great weekend golf break at the Menzies Cambridge Golf and Country club. The course was excellently tended and challenged us all; especially the water on the 1st and 18th holes. I would say this is a course that will appeal to golfers of any ability so would recommend it for a golf trip.

The hotel was welcoming (even allowing one of my guests to bring their dog when their kennels let them down) with good meals; especially the breakfast. The bar prices were quite high and bar service slow but we found a nice pub round the corner as well as a supermarket for anything we forgot.

An ideal location for a golf break as you are not just restricted to the resort. The location was very easy to find being at the top of the M11 and allowed for an evening out in Cambridge if required. There were other groups of golfers there who had booked with Your Golf Travel so the golf trip was a friendly one!

I would rate the overall experience of the weekend as a 9 out of 10 only spoiled for me by the 30 minute wait for a drink on the terrace…

My experience of YGT has been great with an efficient service and good knowledge of the various courses available in various areas of the UK. I would highly recommend you to my friends and expect to use YGT again as soon as I am allowed to book another golf weekend away!

We really enjoyed our golf trip to Menzies Cambridge Hotel & Golf Club. The golf course was great and a very enjoyable test for us all. Quite a few holes had ditches running across them so good course management is a must here. A good sign was that the yardages of these ditches were always shown on the tees. The greens were also in top condition.Unfortunately our complimentary buggy wasn’t available for our first round as they are subject to availability but we did get one for the second round.

The hotel and facilities were good and there a few pubs within walking distance one of which is only about 4 minutes away.

All in all this was a successful golf break and we would consider booking with Your Golf Travel again as £75 was great value for two rounds and a night in the hotel.

Overall we had a terrific couple of days on our golf break at the Cambridge Hotel & Golf Club. The golf course was a tough but nevertheless enjoyable parkland layout which was in great condition. We had no issues whatsoever with the arrangements and both the Hotel and Golf Club were expecting us and had us appropriately booked in and the staff were most helpful.

For the price we paid, the golf break was an absolute bargain and the accommodation and food were very good. The location could not be easier to find and although this was our second golf break to the Hotel & Club, we would be happy to do it all over again.

Many thanks for the part you played in ensuring the two days went off without a hitch and to top it all, the weather for October was terrific despite a very fresh wind.We are now looking forward to the Algarve golf break we have booked with you that is just three weeks away!

Once again the help and booking process through Your Golf Travel for our golf break at Menzies Cambridge Hotel & Golf Club was excellent.

The atmosphere in the bar was good as we had the big screen on for the Ryder Cup, the staff were friendly enough. The course was very interesting and there were some really good holes, but the greens were very scabby they had been deep cored I think and covered in tramlines and sand. Which is a shame as the rest of the course is laid out very well.

The hotel itself and the staff were good not over helpful but adequate. The food was ok and there was a good choice.

Getting there is so easy straight off the M11 and no way you can get lost.

On the whole the hotel was pretty good but not really value for money if we hadn't had the benefit of the deal provided by YourGolfTravel for our golf holiday.

I would rate the Course 7 out 10 (Higher had the greens been ok) and the hotel 8 out 10.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable short golf break at Menzies Cambridge Hotel and Golf Club. Yourgolftravel.com organised everything for us very well. The hotel was comfortable, food good, the only down side was the rooms were a bit small and the hotel only had 1 bar. The people at the hotel though were friendly and helpful. The golf course was in a good condition and the greens were fast. The course was quiet tight off the tees. Overall I would rate this golf break 7/10. We will definitely be using yourgolftravel.com for our next golf break.

The Cambridge Hotel & Golf Club were easy to find & signposted near to the venue. Arrived early for our golf break in case of traffic & had quick coffee before tee time. Service was good, pro shop helpful & well stocked.

Teed off on time in wet conditions, overnight rain & rain for the day meant a few puddles on greens which were expected under those conditions. Course was in very good condition, greens smooth & faster than my club, ball rolled well on them, also nice & receptive. Some of the holes had ditches that were in range for my wife which made it a little longer to play than the scorecard suggests as some lay ups were required with tee shots. Got stuck behind 3 groups of part golfers & part beginners which meant we took nearly 2 & half hours to play 7 holes, which was not pleasant in wet conditions. Managed to jump to the 11th tee from the eighth & finished the round very comfortably. Quite a bit of traffic noise on the first few holes due to wet roads & spray.

Checked in early & was surprised to find that our room was ready. Check in very prompt & helpful.Used leisure facilities after checking in to try & warm up & unwind. Nice pool & steam room, good showers & facilities, clean & tidy.

Bar prices a bit steep £6.90 for a pint of Magners & half a Guinness & blackcurrant.Evening meal was a carvery as it was a Sunday although options were available.Food was very good with an excellent selection of veg & sides to compliment. There were certainly no complaints with the quality or the service - very friendly.

Bed was comfy & got good night’s sleep, no noisy guests to keep us awake which was nice.Breakfast was equally impressive & again good selection, service & quality.Check out smooth & efficient, all above board. We played the eighteen in better conditions on the Monday & a lot better pace of play.

Overall an enjoyable stay & would certainly like to play the course again in drier conditions.
