The Parkland Course was designed by Howard Swan, whose internationally acclaimed architectural portfolio includes golf courses such as The Goodwood Club in Sussex, as well as projects in Portugal, Germany and the United States. The 6,497-yard layout is sure to challenge visiting golfers, with sound strategy being crucial to secure safe passage around the myriad of bunkers and water hazards.
The 6,231 yard Riverside Course at Canford Magna is maintained to the same high standard as the neighbouring Parkland, and is most memorable for the network of ponds and streams that are interspersed throughout. The River Stour is the main focal point around what can be described as an inland links course, which provides excellent variety during a golfing visit to Canford Magna.
For beginners or golfing veterans the Knighton Course may be perfect; the nine-hole par-3 layout has tricky holes that range from 95 to 235 yards, and will test every shot in the bag. The undulating greens, split across multiple levels, are the most notable characteristic of this most enjoyable little course.
Canford Magna also boasts an excellent practice facility, with a covered driving range, a six-hole academy course and a dedicated short-game area.
