In 2007, the City of Newcastle Golf Club celebrated its centenary, and remains an extremely welcoming and hospitable golfing destination. Though it has changed much in the intervening period, the golf course's origins were a set of plans devised by none other than the great Harry Vardon.

Vardon recognised the great potential of the site, which now hosts a 6,523 yard layout that will test even the most skilled of visitors. Without doubt the most challenging holes are saved for the course's climax, when a series of lengthy tests can be making or breaking of any scorecard.
Though it is little known in the wider golfing conscience, City Of Newcastle Golf Club is a true gem, and is part of a fantastic golf tour of the north-east's favourite city.
