The layout was conceived by Gary Player, and the legendary South African's creation was opened for play in 1973. With the mountains rising up to the North and the Mediterranean sprawling to the South, El Paraiso is a spectacular place to play a round of golf, and the golf course certainly justifies its amazing location. The gently undulating fairways are bordered by palm trees, while the network of streams and a couple of lakes add both beauty and danger.

The course measures 6,704 yards from the championship markers, but there are tees to suit every standard of golfer. The great golf course, embellished with stunning flora and fauna including oleander and mimosas, is a consistent favourite of regular visitors to the area, and is well worth playing during your next golf holiday in this beautiful part of Spain.

The treacherous 6^th hole is a long dog-leg par-5 with fairway bunkers and a lake to be avoided.

Located conveniently between Marbella and Estepona near the Costa del Sol shoreline, El Paraiso is an excellent four-star hotel that is perfectly equipped to welcome both golf and leisure visitors.

While the La Pergola Restaurant is open for a relaxed meal throughout the day, La Piramide is a fine dining room with a sumptuous menu and an extensive wine list.
