November 2007 - Paul Humphreys
Accommodation. - First class. We were able to check in early which was a bonus. Good sized clean rooms with an obvious high standard of maintenance. Reception staff were all helpful and efficient. No problems with booking in or checking out at all.
Hotel Facilities. - All very good. Fitness suite and spa were used by us all at some point.
Hotel Food. - More than acceptable. Plentiful, cooked well, and the service staff were all polite and courteous.
Hotel Bar. - No bar tariff board on one bar so we got stung on some Bloody Mary's. £7.50 each was a bit steep! However, in the main they were consistent with what one would suspect in a hotel.
Golf Courses. - The Lakes course was the better of the two, but both were well maintained and in good condition for the time of year. The course rangers were helpful and visible, but to be honest, did not do a good job ensuring the pace of play was reasonable. We were out for 4hr 50m on Saturday and 4hr 40m on Sunday. Fortunately, the weather was superb so we had a good time, but if it had been cold, wet, or both, then it would not have been fun. The courses were not that tight to justify any more than 4hrs a round. We didn't make an issue of it because we were allowed to play from the white tees and on the Lakes course in particular, it really made a difference. But even playing from the Whites we were still held up by the groups in front.
Summary. - Would we go there again. Most probably. Would we recommend to others. Definitely. Would we use you guys again. Most certainly and look forward to doing so.
I almost forgot. The Birthday Cake was a huge hit with everyone. Not only was it delicious, but it was big enough to feed two other parties who all happened to be girls. Sometimes the sun does shine on the righteous!!!
Thanks again. Look forward to dealing with you again in the future.
Kind regards.
Paul Humphreys
