Formby Hall Golf Club

Measuring over 7,000 from the championship markers, Formby Hall is a considerable test, and is regarded as a welcome addition to the seemingly endless list of excellent courses in the North-West.

Despite only opening in 1996, Formby Hall has already staged PGA Challenge Tour events, and it's now a regular stop on the PGA Europro Tour with the next event being staged on 4 August, 2010. There are also plans to establish an amateur golf centre with state-of-the-art practice facilities. The grandiose colonial style clubhouse sits proudly above the course, which was the result of much work to convert the marshland that existed previously.

Formby Hall prides itself in its superb putting surfaces, and the parkland resort style provides good variety alongside the numerous links courses dotted along the coastline.

Order a hot-dog or a beer from the clubhouse, which can be contacted by telephone from any hole on the course.

Formby Hall recently opened a Par 3 Course. Thanks very much for arranging our golf break to Formby Hall this year, it was tremendous value.

Many thanks YourGolfTravel for you efforts in arranging our golf trip; it was sensational!

The golf course at Formby Hall was a great test for our group as we had a range of handicaps from single figure to 28. Obviously there is a lot of water at Formby so you need to think your way around it which was the challenge we go for on these trips. The course condition was excellent with no great treks from green to tee and the 19th hole was clean and welcoming.

Formby Hall Hotel was fantastic and the executive suites you managed to arrange for us were the best we as a group of 10 had ever stayed in. The overall verdict from our group was 9/10. There were no delays or long waits to tee off, the course was fantastic and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our evening meal was by far the best meal we have ever had on our previous golf breaks away.

Your service was superb and everything you did for us was spot on, we will definitely be booking with you in the future and I will recommend you to every golfer I know.

I booked a one night golf break for our football team with dinner bed and breakfast at Formby Hall and having just returned from the trip I can confirm it was amazing value for money.

This is a fantastic venue for all golf enthusiasts and on top of the championship golf there was a fantastic spa to relax in post round of golf. The staff concerned catered for all our needs and we were made to feel like VIPs! The 18 hole championship course is a real challenge and in fantastic condition...especially when you consider the time of the year (November). The food in the restaurant for the evening meal was of the highest standard and the staff were courteous and polite. We had good banter with all the staff and they were very understanding as sometimes a gang of footballers can get a bit boisterous!

All in all this was a fantastic couple of days thanks to YGT’s very efficient booking system...I would waste no time in booking future golf breaks with you! Thanks again!

Thanks again for organising our golf breaks to Formby Hall. The hotel was great and the leisure facilities were very enjoyable. We thought the bar was very welcoming and enjoyed having a few drinks after our rounds there. Would recommend it to anyone thinking of playing around this area - five stars.
