Founded in 1889, Forres Golf Club's original nine holes were designed by the revered James Braid, before Willie Park was commissioned to increase the course to the eighteen holes in place today.

Forres may not have the reputation of some of its illustrious neighbours, but it remains a good test, and has in the past hosted tournament golf, including the Socttish Professional Championships.
The signature hole is undoubtedly the testing 16th; named ‘The Pond', it is a favourite for lake ball collectors.
