Stoke Park
The exclusive Stoke Park is home to a golf course that is among the best in the UK, if not the world. Opened in 1908, and originally known as the Stoke Poges Golf Club, the estate boasts a splendid 27-hole complex, with three distinctive loops designed by Harry S. Colt, one of England’s most esteemed architectural names.
The enchanting courses encircle the club’s monumental stately clubhouse, and have fully stood the test of time more than a century since their inauguration. Shapland Colt is best known for his incredible construction of putting surfaces; in fact, the greens are without doubt the highlight of Stoke Park, showcasing perfectly the designer’s ability for subtlety and purity.
