Wales’s capital, Cardiff, is a contemporary, young and vibrant city, with many points of interest for visitors and a superb atmosphere. There has been much development in recent years, including the magnificent Opera House and the Millennium Stadium, and the city is overflowing with excellent restaurants, bars and clubs. Out of town, the south-east of Wales is home to areas of outstanding natural beauty, especially in the Wye and Usk Valleys, and the Brecon Beacons National Park. In addition to all this, the region is littered with fantastic golf courses, which are continuing to develop Wales’ reputation as a golfing destination. At the forefront is the Celtic Manor, whose new course will host the 2010 Ryder Cup matches, but it is ably supported by superb golf courses at St. Pierre, The Vale and many more. With all this in and around Cardiff, and easily accessible via the M4 and the international airport, there is no doubting the quality of the area as a host for golf breaks and tours.
