Heaton Park had the prodigious honour of being named Britain’s best municipal golf course in 2005, an accolade that was richly deserved by this incredible golfing destination. Now host to the finals of the Nick Faldo Junior Series, Heaton Park is a true gem.

National PGA events and Ladies European Tour championships are among those to grace Heaton Park, which was opened in 1911 after the design was completed by J.H. Taylor. The 193-yard 11th hole is possibly the best known of Heaton Park’s challenges laid out by Taylor, a five-time Open Champion.
The 11th was described by the great Henry Cotton as the ‘toughest par 3 in England’, and although it is indeed difficult, it is a joy to tackle. Heaton Park remains among the best courses in the Manchester area, and being a public facility, it offers great value championship golf as part of a Manchester golf tour.
