Designer Kyle Phillips may be American, but his masterpiece at Kingsbarns shows that he has an inherent understanding of links golf. Every single hole is spectacular, and a round here demands mastery of every shot in the game.

St Andrews, or ‘the auld grey toon', oozes the spirit of golf, and it is not uncommon to see golfers in the pubs still complete with spikes and clubs. The town is strikingly beautiful, especially around the castle and cathedral ruins that are perched above the bay, while the number of pubs per head of population is amazing!
