Knock is a member of the excellent portfolio of golf courses built by the renowned English firm Colt, Mackenzie and Allison. Dr. Alastair Mackenzie went on to create Augusta National amongst others, and with this in mind, it is no surprise that Knock is widely regarded as a gem of a course.

Whilst the majority of Ireland's best courses are seaside classics, Knock is part of a group of high quality inland tracks that add to the country's repertoire. Tree-lined fairways are a feature here, as are strategically-placed bunkers and excellent putting surfaces.
The challenge of Knock comes through the stretch of demanding long par-4s on the front nine, with the signature hole undoubtedly the 6th. Measuring in at 453 yards, and featuring dramatic cherry blossom in the spring as well as a 70-foot monkey puzzle tree, which is said to outdate the golf course itself, and is worth the trip alone.
