We arrived at the Hotel after 10pm when the main restaurant was closed but the staff were expecting and a food menu and drinks list were to offered to us, which after a fairly long journey was most acceptable. The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly professional throughout our stay. All rooms are situated in blocks apart form the main Hotel, we were in the furthest block approx 3/4 minute walk up an incline the last part to the Hotel quite steep. The staff used buggies to transport our luggage clubs etc The rooms were serviced daily with fresh bath and pool towels with additional deep cleaning under the present circumstances. Normally in a room there would be general information brochure with reception number, meal times, taxi, emergency number, minibus to beach info etc but this was missing again due to need for extra cleaning ,but a sheet of paper issued to guest for their stay would have saved a number of visits to reception to ask questions. The normal buffet evening meal was restricted, understandably so as there were very few staying guests in the Hotel. On three evenings there were outdoor evening weddings, in this most idealistic setting of the Hotel. The outdoor terrace where all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner were taken in temperature of 31 degrees, over looked the golf course and Mediterranian. A car or taxi is needed to visit any other village or town and Kyrenia the main town is a 25 minute taxi ride away. The beach club is just over a mile away but to walk there is a need to walk some distance along a very busy main road with no pavements only scrub land but a mini bus does transport guests three times a day. There is a pool with a bar. Some of the facilites eg a second restaurant/bar was not open. This Hotel is normally full from September onwards but covid restrictions have stopped many people travelling. With the necessary documents that we needed to provide in September, to travel to this resort we can understand why.
Situated on the north of Cyprus, Korineum Golf and Beach Resort is a tranquil and beautiful slice of coastal heaven. Less than an hour and a half from Larnaca airport, this resort is easy to get to from the UK and is well worth the journey. This is certainly one of the underrated gems of Cyprus and is perfect for couples looking for a golf destination.
Golf in Cyprus was traditionally reserved for the south of the island, this is a unique addition to the golfing repertoire of the nation. Interestingly, the course was built in 2007 and, in 2009, a hotel was built due to the amazing success the course was having.
