Harlech is an ideal centre for touring the area and it commands superb views of Snowdonia and is less than half a mile from the beach on Cardigan Bay. Nearby is the superb Royal St David's championship golf course, among many other stand-out courses in the region of Harlech, or you can opt for tennis, badminton, squash, swimming and mountain walking.

The beaches in Cardigan Bay offer safe swimming with sandy beaches spectacular views across the bay to Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsular. Shell Island Harbour is nearby. In the opposite direction is the traditional Edwardian seaside town of Barmouth (12 miles) with magnificient views across the estuary to Cader Idris, while  Mawddach Trail is an easy and scenic walk along the estuary.
