    Reef Course

The Reef Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, and is ranked as one of the Caribbean's top 3 layouts. The immaculate fairways are bordered by fescue and other tall grasses, and the putting surfaces are vast, but are protected by cavernous bunkers. Trent Jones Junior also managed to bring water into play on no less than 13 holes, thanks to the enormous lakes that are central to the course. Slick greens and stunning views are the lasting memories of the Reef Course, which is a guaranteed highlight of a golf escape to the beautiful Bahamas.

The Grand Bahama Island is just 55 miles from the southern tip of Florida, making it extremely accessible from the United States via connecting flights. Over 7 acres of the most idyllic sandy beach is the canvas upon which the Grand Lucayan Resort has been created, and the development is worthy of its host.

Adjacent to the pristine sand and turquoise water is the deluxe hotel, whose rooms and suites evoke the charm and character of the Bahamas. In addition to the outstanding levels of customer service, the rooms are superbly appointed, featuring a trademark Heavenly Bed, high speed internet access, full air-conditioning, safe, mini-bar, satellite television and bathrobes.

Options include rooms that overlook the island or the beautiful Caribbean waters, but every guest room will guarantee a truly luxurious golfing escape to the beautiful shores of the Bahamas.

The resort has designated running tracks, ranging from 3 to 5 miles, in addition to the well equipped fitness centre, floodlit outdoor tennis courts and basketball facilities. The coastline's water sports include wind surfing, snorkelling, sailing and kayaking, while families and larger groups should certainly have a go on the banana boats. For the ultimate in relaxation, head to the spa for an indulgent massage.

The Resort at the Grand Lucuyan has been named one of the ten best Caribbean resorts for families.

The journey of culinary delights will take you as far as Asia with the China Grill restaurant.

Hammerhead's Pool Bar is the place to seek refreshment from the midday heat of the Bahamas sunshine.
