We had a marvelous time at Lykia Links in Turkey and we have to say it is the best golf resort we have ever visited on a golf holiday.
The golf course was challenging, especially from the back tees, but as there are several tee positions golfers of all handicap levels should enjoy playing the course which seems as if it has been flown in from Scotland! The only thing that makes it different from the classic links courses in Scotland is the perfect weather! The greens are undulating and testing and every approach shot should be tackled with caution as over-ambition leads to disaster in the many bunkers which guard every green.The course conditions were excellent and the pro shop staff very accommodating. This is a relatively new course so now is the time to play as I can see it being one of the most popular in Turkey before too long! We were able to alter our tee times to earlier in the morning because of the heat and wanted to ensure that we had a buggy. The staff were happy to help and accommodated us graciously.
As our transfer driver commented “The Lykia is a palace in the middle of nowhere” and anyone who wants to be near to town night-life should be made aware of this. However, for a golf holiday with lots of R & R on site, the whole set up is perfect. As the hotel is relatively new the facilities are excellent for all ages and interests. Any events etc are clearly communicated through the daily information publications. Our room was spacious - just as illustrated in the brochure and directly above the golf pro shop which was reached by the lift opposite our room...convenient or what?!
The buffet dining food was of a high quality and the variety was impressive; we especially enjoyed the grills and freshly prepared pastas. The hotel earned bonus points from us as an “adult only” dining area was available in the evening where the service was attentive and provided a more sophisticated - and civilised - atmosphere.
Over the past eight years we have enjoyed several hotels and courses on the Belek coast and would rate all aspects of the Lykia Links very highly and would not hesitate to return. Turkey is surely the new Algarve as far as golf breaks go.We will certainly continue to recommend your company to friends who express an interest in golf holidays as we found the booking process to be quick and easy. Value for money is top notch as well!
