Construction is complete on the Earl of Mar golf course, opened to a fanfare in early 2009. Designed by the famous Dave Thomas, the par-70 championship layout will establish Mar Hall as one of the premier golf break destinations in Scotland.
The championship course is closed from 1 November 2009 until Spring 2010 to allow the new layout to mature.
Built in 1828, the magnificent Mar Hall is a deluxe 5* hotel to rival almost anything in Scotland. Spanning the estate of the former Earl of Mar, the mansion house is steeped in history, with references to Mary Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce among others.
The amazing restoration has transformed Mar Hall, which now offers 53 lavishly designed guest bedrooms and suites. With the newly completed Aveda Spa and the splendid Dave Thomas-designed golf course, Mar Hall is one of the most complete 5* golf and leisure resorts in Scotland.

Mar Hall is home to Scotland's first Aveda Concept Spa, offering a completely holistic approach to wellbeing. The finest oils and essences are sourced with the utmost environmental consciousness, and then applied to treatments that follow therapeutic traditions from India.
The hotel also boasts a 20 metre indoor swimming pool, as well as a sauna, steam room, gym and yoga / pilates classes.
Award-winning chef Jim Kerr is the man responsible the incredible menu in The Cristal restaurant, a true fine dining experience.
