Hmm, something went wrong... would you mind trying again?

Set high on Bournemouth’s famous East Cliff, Menzies Carlton boasts amazing views out over Poole Bay and offers east access to a seven mile stretch of golden sandy beach. The hotel has benefitted greatly from an extensive refurbishment project and is now recognised as one of the leadinh hotels on the south coast.

Choose from 76 spacious bedrooms, some of which boast private balconies and stunning sea views, and all of which are stylishly decorated and well appointed to ensure comfort throughout your stay. From the humble Single Rooms to the luxurious Sea View Balcony Suite, all rooms are contemporary in style and feature comfortable en-suite bathrooms, tea, and coffee making facilities, flat screen TVs and complimentary WiFi. Larger rooms offer additional living space and are perfect for travelling families.

When it comes to dining, the restaurant at the Menzies Carlton Hotel has an excellent reputation. Frederick’s is a AA Rosette award winning restaurant and here you can savour a delicious meal against the sparkling backdrop of the Dorset seaside. Traditional, locally sourced ingredients are used to produce classic dishes as well as some exquisite continental cuisine. Sunday Lunches in particular are a highlight.

The stylish cocktail bar and relaxing lounge also provide comfortable spaces for guests to relax and enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or an evening socialising over a few well deserved drinks.

Located just a short walk from the centre of Bournemouth, guests can explore local attractions during their time away from the golf course and thanks to the superb Waves Health & Leisure Club, unwinding with a dip in the pool and few minutes in the sauna after a long day on the fairways is also on the cards.

The Isle of Purbeck and Broadstone GC; both excellent golf courses...

Thanks to yourgolftravel for your first class organisation of our recent golf trip to Bournemouth. We were well advised to play at The Isle of Purbeck and Broadstone GC; both excellent golf courses.

At the Isle of Purbeck we experienced some dreadful weather, the course and the wonderful views couldn't be blamed for that. Despite the weather, the course was really interesting and in excellent condition.

The bar staff welcomed us back in from the course and warmed us up with homemade soup and whiskey macs!

I would recommend you take an electric trolley with you as the only had pull trollies and buggies for hire.

Broadstone was a mature, tough course and also in first class condition in spite of the previous days heavy rain. We would all like to return to play both of these courses again now that we have discovered them.

In terms of accommodation, the Menzies Carlton Hotel was excellent. The reception staff were very welcoming, the sea view rooms very comfortable and clean as well. The bathrooms had huge radiators which were perfect for drying our wet golf things!

The hotel is a short walk from Harry Ramsden’s Restaurant which was very good and thoroughly recommended. The evening meal in the hotel was also excellent and beautifully presented and the staff friendly and helpful too.

Bournemouth itself has a complicated road system so we’d recommend first timers take a sat-nav.

All in all a great holiday.
