The golf course was designed to a high specification by renowned architect David Williams (responsible for Archerfield Links in Scotland and PGA Golf De Catalunya in Spain) and former winner of the European Open, Andrew Murray. It's an enjoyable course to play for all standards of golfer off the yellow and red tees, yet can provide a tougher test for more proficient golfers off the white tees, which stretch the course to 6,500 yards or so.
The course is laid out to provide two loops of nine holes, which start and finish near the clubhouse, and is set in a mature landscape divided by trees and hedgerows and enjoys attractive views towards the Ditchling Beacon, a prominent landmark on the South Downs.
The layout is fairly open and gently undulating, with several risk and reward style holes to keep you on your toes. It has well designed contoured greens, interesting water hazards and a number of strategically placed bunkers.
There's a fine driving range with grass tees and all-weather mats, a pitching area with three short holes, a bunker area, plus a putting green by the 1st tee and another by the bar. There's a varied bar menu and specials board, an Afternoon Tea menu and on Sundays a "Roast of the Day" which changes week by week.
