Woll Golf Course is a very pleasurable challenge, winding through the beautiful Borders countryside of the Ale Valley. The Woll Burn is frequently a threat, and with the mature trees lining the manicured fairways, the peace and tranquility of the estate make for a memorable experience.
The great benefit of the golf course's situation at the base of a valley is that the natural sub-soil is sand, and as such it has exceptional natural drainage qualities, allowing proper play throughout the year. The 4th hole is arguably the highlight; named ‘Dipper Haugh', this par-5 measures a mighty 573 yards, with the pond and out-of-bounds a genuine threat.
There is a driving range and tuition facilities locally, which combined with the beautiful golf course ensures that Woll should be a fundamental part of a Borders golf break.
