That Rory McIlroy does love a bit of drama doesn’t he! Having already missed out in two playoffs, McIIroy looked set to have another nervy finish in the Dubai Desert Classic, after bogies on 15, 16 and 17. His lead was cut to just one when he found that back bunker on 18, however the up and down which followed ensured his first victory on the European Tour. He’s a real star of the future and I’m sure we’ll see him challenging for some top honours this year.
