11th time visiting, great accommodation apart from we were moved to the very end of the resort which we very early tee times booked means we had 10mins for breakfast. Biggest disappointment was now buggies are chargeable. This was not explained at the time of booking. Spending 45 euros on buggy’s was a big part of my holiday budget. Food service was very poor. Evening meals were over an hour wait. Order’s continually wrong with mixed quality when the food arrived. One night my burger turned up pink inside after waiting 90mins. I sent it back and although I did get an apology from the manager after 36 holes of golf I wasn’t happy. Shuttle service has new vans which was good, reception friendly and helpful. Booking tee times was very tough this year. We had 3 booked rounds but we ended up playing the last two holes on the Faldo on Tuesday in the dark (which was an experience) as the earliest tee time was 3.15
The Algarve region of Portugal is a paradise for golfers and the Amendoeira Golf Resort is a prime example of what makes the area such a great destination. Attention to detail is the key to the success of this resort with golf courses by Nick Faldo, Christy O’Connor Jr. and the region’s only floodlit par-3 course.
Found just 15-minutes from the beautiful beaches of southern Portugal with fabulous views to the magnificent Monchique Mountains, Amendoeira Golf Resort is home to luxurious 4-star apartments & villas and lends itself well to both a family trip and a group of friends getting some Portuguese heat in for their golfing holiday.
The Faldo course was awarded the Best Course in Portugal in 2016 by the World Golf Awards and consistently ranked as a top 100 course in Continental Europe. Only thirty minutes from Faro airport and just over two hours from Lisbon, this great golf resort is in a great spot to do some exploring of Portugal in general.
