OLYMPUS VILAMOURA SUITES 4*

Just come back from our annual boy’s trip to Vilamoura and thought I'd share the experience with you and applaud the organisation by Your Golf Travel. There's always that horrid moment when you’re the organiser as you wheel your trolleys out into arrivals when you think “Will there be someone with a board with my name on it or am I in for grief?” I needn’t have worried as a man showed us to our waiting minibus and helped load our clubs on. We were off!

We stayed in the Olympus Vilamoura Suites – an apartment hotel which was great as the four of us were all in the same big apartment. A quick trip to load the fridge up with surprisingly cheap beer and wine and we were off for our first round.

The brilliant thing about golf trips to Vilamoura is that you just call reception 10 minutes before you want to leave and a minibus appears to take you to the course – all included in the price. We played The Millennium first and it was fantastic. The greens were amazing and some of the villas surrounding the course were to die for! A quick beer after then back in the minibus and off for the first night out.

You’re spoilt for restaurants so choosing can be difficult. The Marina is beautiful at night with hundreds of people just wandering around. Dinner was followed by the inevitable march towards The Irish Bar playing live music until...let’s just say...well past bedtime!

The next day was The Victoria course. It was windy that day and it’s a very, very long course with some really heavy rough and a lot of water – but it’s brilliant. No wonder the Portuguese Open is played there.

Another night of enthusiastic drinking followed, then The Old Course – which I say if you go to Vilamoura you HAVE to play. It’s just beautiful and every single hole is special. Then it was back to the hotel for the last night - and that’s all I’m going to say on that one!

The Algarve and specifically Vilamoura is a great place to go for a golf holiday – amazing courses, great organisation getting you to and from them, plenty to do in the evening (and the evening can go on until it’s light!), good food, not too expensive for beers and wine...all in all an excellent golf break destination. One piece of advice though...get buggies! The courses we played were all fairly long and walking them in the heat of the Algarve sun can be taxing!

Thanks to Your Golf Travel for making everything run like clockwork...get your thinking caps on though because in the not too distant future we will be challenging you to top our Vilamoura golf trip!

Your Golf Travel did a sterling job organising our Algarve golf holiday and we will definitely be using your services again. The golf break was a great success and everything ran smoothly and according to plan.

The airport transfers were on time and comfortable but the biggest success I would say was the hotel. When we arrived we were upgraded for free so rather than staying in 4 basic twin rooms we stayed in 2 apartment rooms which each had two balconies, a kitchen, lounge, 3 bathrooms and felt luxurious. The views from the hotel rooms were stunning - we had views of the marina and views of the beach from both sides of the apartment. The hotel was in perfect location -close to everything we wanted in Vilamoura.

We played the Pinhal and the Laguna golf courses and they were both very good indeed. The Pinhal course was very challenging and beautiful. The course was also in great condition and was a real pleasure to play. The Laguna course was a very different prospect to the Pinhal but was equally enjoyable to play. If we had to pick a favourite it would be the Pinhal. The shuttle to and from the course was prompt and very good service, the courses both had lovely, clean facilities with good bars and good food and drink at reasonable prices.

Overall we had plenty to occupy us (group of 8) and would definitely return to Vilamoura for future golf holidays.

The service we received from Your Golf Travel was spot on and I am very happy with your suggestions and booking. I'll definitely use your services again, so many thanks for all your help.

The four of us had a great time on our Vilamoura golf holiday and we are grateful to Your Golf Travel for the efficient and professional organisation of the golf break.

We stayed at the Olympus Vilamoura Suites which were just perfect for a golf break in Portugal. Equipped with Satellite TV, air-con, and a private balcony the rooms were just what we needed after a hot day on the golf course. Cooling off in the swimming pools or at the nearby beach was a real treat and a great way to refresh ourselves before a night in Vilamoura.

The Victoria Course was nice but a bit too challenging for me although after a nights partying in Vilamoura, 3 hours sleep and still seeing double probably didn’t help matters on the course! The Old Course was awesome and we like it so much that we decided to swap our round on the Laguna Course and play it again on the last day of the golf holiday. This required a call to YGT towers and the matter was resolved within minutes of getting trough to our booking agent.

The four of us agreed that the golf trip was very well organised, very stress free and we will definitely be booking through Your Golf Travel again. I think we’re looking at a Spanish golf break next year and I’m sure you have somewhere in mind that would be good for us.

From the moment I spoke to the staff at Your Golf Travel I knew I was in safe hands. Every piece of correspondence I received from that point up the golf break itself only reinforced my confidence in YGT. I had booked a round of golf on the Oceanico Pinhal and Laguna courses and was mightily impressed by both the layouts and conditioning of the golf courses. All of the facilities and clubhouses were great as was the accommodation at the Olympus Vilamoura Suites.

I will certainly use YGT for my future golf holidays as everything was top class and the value for money was amazing. I have already passed on the YGT details to countless golfers at my home club and to golfing buddies at work. Thanks for all your help.
