Formerly the host of the Nevada Open, Painted Desert was mapped out by Jay Morrish, frequent design partner of Tom Weiskopf, for its opening in 1987. Since then it has flourished to become a real gem, characterised by the clever contouring implemented by Morrish to add considerable challenge.
The layout is among the best maintained of any Nevada public courses and the contrast between the rugged mountains rising in the background and the perfectly manicured fairways and greens is stark. 6,840 yards from the tips, the entertaining Painted Desert is an excellent choice for any Las Vegas golfer.
