Plymouth concedes some attention to the golf and nightlife mecca of Bournemouth in the stakes of golf tours in the south west, but Plymouth itself is a really enjoyable city, and offers some excellent golf.
Recommended city centre bases include the Copthorne Hotel Plymouth, offering not only great accommodation but also immediate access to Plymouth's attractions. In golfing terms, the area's stars are undoubtedly Whitsand Bay and the excellent two courses at the St Mellion resort.
