Designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr, Port Royal Golf Club is widely acclaimed as one of the world's best public golf courses, and was named Bermuda's finest course by the New York Times. Port Royal features 18 championship holes over 6,842 manicured yards and is the longest and arguably most picturesque course in Bermuda. It also has one of the greatest holes in the world - the 16th, which is a 238-yard crescent-shaped classic with nothing but the Atlantic Ocean between the tee and the pin.
The course underwent a $14.5 million renovation, spearheaded by original design team member Robert Rulewich, in preparation for the 2009 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, a season-ending tournament featuring the winners of the Masters, U.S. Open, Open and the PGA Championship. Now with Atlantic Ocean views from nearly every hole, Port Royal has tranquil new lakes supported by a state-of-the-art irrigation system for world-class conditions year round. Added to that is a 300-yard oceanfront driving range and the course's luxurious clubhouse with a new bar and grill serving steaks and seafood daily.
