PRESIDENTS CUP
6 - 11 October, 2009, Harding Park, San Fransisco, California
The Presidents Cup sees America take on the might of the Rest of the World in a matchplay tournament which has seen some dramatic finishes over the years. Since its inception in 1994 some of the world’s great international players have pitted their matchplay might against America in a battle to see who is the greatest team in golf.
Despite lacking in the history of the Ryder Cup it is one of the most popular sporting events in the golfing calendar and sees thousands of golf fans descend every two years. Past US Captains include Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus whereas the International team has been skippered by Gary Player and Peter Thomson. The 2009 event sees Fred Couples and Greg Norman taking on captaining duties for which is an eagerly anticipated event on the golfing calendar.
