Prestonfield is about as convenient a course as is possible to include in an Edinburgh golf tour package, as it is located just over a mile from the castle and the Royal Mile. What is more, Prestonfield is home to a lovely parkland course that is a really enjoyable test.

Superb views of the surrounding area, including Arthur's Seat rising alongside, are part of the Prestonfield experience, but the course, whose history dates back to 1920 when it was founded to provide golf for the city's Civil Servants, is a joy to play.
The back nine involves the better established holes at Prestonfield, and is carved through some mature woodland and around the even more impressive Prestonfield House. A relatively easy walk and extremely convenient, Prestonfield is recommended option for any Edinburgh golf tour group.
