The course at Riva Dei Tessali has been the host of the Tessali Open Del Sud for nearly twenty years, a competition sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour.
The course is carved through great banks of pine trees, which skirt the fairways tightly. This calls for accuracy from the tee in order to attack the greens, which are relatively small, and protected by clever bunkering.
Riva Dei Tessali was designed by British architect John Harris in partnership with Italian Marco Croze, and although it is not particularly long for a championship course (6,517 yards), the clever layout makes it particularly tricky. With an excellent golf course and the fantastic Puglian climate, this gem of a course is perfect for a sunny round during a golf in southern Italy.

Accommodation at the Riva Dei Tessali resort is divided between the excellent Golf Hotel and the self-catered village apartments.
The Golf Hotel is home to 70 well appointed bedrooms, which are decorated in the traditional style of the region, and are equipped with modern facilities such as air-conditioning, telephone and television. There is nothing ostentatious about the hotel, more a sophisticated calm, which makes it a real joy as a base for a golf holiday.
The recently constructed apartments overlook the resort's golf course, and have an endearing simple elegance. Every unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and with a private balcony, they are extremely comfortable, affording added privacy to lerger groups and families.Guests of both the hotel and the apartments are free to make use of the lovely swimming pool, which is surrounded by the estate's characteristic pine trees.The fantastic restaurant at the resort is unique, in that all the ingredients are sourced from the local Riva Dei Tessali farm.
