Hmm, something went wrong... would you mind trying again?

This traditional country public house has a renowned restaurant seating 60 persons and 10 sumptuous letting rooms, all of which have televisions and en-suite shower rooms.

The Inn is steeped in history and is known to have been in existence for at least 500 years, but benefits from 21st century facilities.

The food and drink on offer is both hearty and of the highest quality, using the finest local produce. The full Welsh breakfast that's served here is to die for, while the lunches in general are memorable for their quality and quantity! The bar serves a selection of real ales and ciders, and stocks a growing selection of wines and a very fine range of malt whiskies.

The area is peerfect for golf being endowed with breathtaking beauty in every direction, including rivers, forests, hills and mountains.
Sleepy market towns with old-fashioned shops are within easy access - for example Hay on Wye (4 Miles) Builth Wells (6 Miles) or Kington (8 Miles) and a bit further afield the Cathedral City of Hereford.

Our recent golf tour of Wales was a real success so a big thanks goes to Your Golf Travel. We all had an excellent time at the 3 golf courses we played and the Roast Ox Inn was one of the most hospitable B&Bs I have ever stayed in. The owner and all his staff are so friendly and welcoming and we will stay here again on next year’s golf tour.

Builth Wells was the scene of our first round of golf and it was a great track for easing into the action on the first day of a golf tour. 12 par 4s and 6 par 3s made for an unusual layout but it tested all of our short games and got the driver going straight.

Cradoc Golf Club was a more exacting test of golf as its length called for a driver off the tee. However accuracy couldn’t be sacrificed for distance because the fairways were tree lined. All in all this was a great test and the course was in fantastic nick.

Kington was where we played our final round of golf and it too was a very enjoyable golf course. Apparently it’s the highest golf course in England and it was fairly exposed meaning when the wind blew it really blew! This golf course can’t be beaten for the sheer drama of the views it offers.

I would recommend these golf courses and the Roast Ox Inn to anyone that’s looking for a good weekend golf break and good, warm hospitality.
