0800 043 6644Denise McLoughlin built Swords Open Golf Course 25 years ago as a pay and play facility on part of the family farm at Roganstown. In 2006, Swords Golf Club was founded and operated out of the Coillte Log Cabin Clubhouse on Balheary Avenue until 2016. It was then re-routed and now operates out of Roganstown.
In 2004 the family engaged Christy O’Connor Jnr. to design the Roganstown Course on the rest of the farm and the Georgian Country House homestead was converted to a 52-bedroom hotel, with function rooms, restaurant, bars, and a state-of-the-art leisure centre. There is also a large car park, perfect for coach parking.
The members bar for Roganstown Golf Club is housed within the hotel complex, offering members food and beverage service from 7 am till late 7 days per week.
The Broadmeadow river flows through the land and water is a feature on many holes. There are rich gravel deposits underground at Roganstown, which means that drainage is spectacular and both courses are playable 365 days of the year. Graham MacDowell has said that the greens were among the best he had played.
Located in Swords, Co. Dublin and just four miles from Dublin airport the courses have hosted the Irish PGA Southern Championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the Irish PGA Championship in 2013 and the Roganstown Course was the first venue in Ireland to host a EuroPro Tour Event in 2006.

Nice hotel & spa, staff lovely & two resort type courses are fine. A little out the way if you dont have a car but a nice all the same.
Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Check in straight forward and food decent
The hotel staff were fantastic. YourGolfTravel had, disappointingly, not not booked the twin rooms as requested, despite giving assurance by telephone that this had been done. However the reception staff went above and beyond the call of duty to meet our needs, despite the hotel being at capacity.
Enjoyed the leisure facilities with good sized pool, sauna and steam room along with the jacuzzi. Perfect way to unwind after a day’s golf. Good food at the bar in the evening and the staff were excellent. Room was spacious and no issues
Hotel a bit isolated from nearest town. Hotel is great, very good staff, food and drinks excellent. Rooms a bit dated

course was non-descript ...not special ...felt like a municiple
Nice course, couple of holes required some walking between green and next tee box but never took away from the experience of a great round.
Lovely picturesque course with some really class and challenging holes
The Roganstown course is more challenging than Swords with water more in play but still enjoyable. We were unfortunate to play on a wet day that made the course play even longer. Greens were in excellent order but, like Swords, Par 3s not too long.
The Swords Course was the easier of the two with a mainly flat terrain. Fairly forgiving if you strayed off the fairway on the holes without water. Greens in excellent condition and fast. No real standout holes until the last Par3 over the pond. Suited for golfers of all abilities and an enjoyable round
Another super course
Very long par fours and par three’s. Not recommended in wet and windy weather. Their Swords course next to Roganstown course which they also own, was a lot more enjoyable if you are in retirement a far easier walk and enjoyable.
A very good course.
