Hmm, something went wrong... would you mind trying again?

One could be forgiven for thinking Royal Durban's flat layout and lack of trees would provide few challenges, but in reality, it's narrow fairways, thick rough, greenside bunkers and hard to read greens make it one of the toughest course in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

At just 6 688 yards Royal Durban's course is a short one by modern-day standards, but in Durban's humid, sub tropical atmosphere where there is little run on it's lush fairways, it is said that it more often plays closer to 7 109 yards.

The well-manicured, 18-hole championship course played host to the inaugural Nelson Mandela Championship in 2012. It is described by the club as "an oasis of calm amidst a bustling city".
