As the only golf course in Ireland to have staged the Open Championship (1951 & 2019), Royal Portrush is held in high regard on the Emerald Isle and has been chosen to host the 2025 Championship.

This high regard is seen with The Dunluce Links Course being consistently ranked amongst the Top 20 Golf Courses in the UK and Ireland. Portrush is a venue rich in championship heritage, as a home golf course to both Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell, those playing here are sure to be tested to the very best of their game.

In 2019, Royal Portrush hosted The Open Championship for the second time as the 5 year cycle of it returning to St Andrew's is broken to enable the Old Course to host the 150th Open Championship in 2021. The Open was won in emphatic style by Shane Lowry. His -15 total included a new course record of 63 in the 3rd round which set up an eventual 6 shot victory and maiden Claret Jug.

Portrush is sure to feature on any golf fanatic's bucket list and ticking off one of the best courses Northern Ireland has to offer has never been easier with Your Golf Travel.
