San Andres Golf Club

San Andres Golf Club

San Andres is the oldest club in Argentina, having been founded in 1892, and is named in honour of the Royal & Ancient club at St Andrews. That is not the only Scottish connection, as the golf course at San Andres was designed by Mungo Park, one of the home of golf’s great pioneers.

    San Andres Golf Club

The par 72 layout stretches to 6,772 yards, and is a mature and subtle test of golf. Though not long by modern standards, Park’s creation is still a stern proposition, a fact borne out by the lengthy list of national championships to be held at San Andres.

Among the famous names to tread the fairways at San Andres is Roberto De Vicenzo, the 1967 Open Champion, so be sure to experience the birthplace of golf in Argentina and the national game’s heritage by including San Andres in your golfing adventure in Buenos Aires.
